Bandanna Day is Canteen’s iconic fundraiser to help young people impacted by cancer. The Canteen WA office hosted Channel 10’s weatherman, Beau Pearson, to chat all things Bandanna Day!
Canteen is an Australian not-for-profit that provides free and tailored support to young people aged 12-25 who are impacted by cancer. Whether they are dealing with their own diagnosis, a close family member’s cancer or the death of a loved one, Canteen provides:
- connection with peers in similar situations through events and programs
- free counselling and individual support
- 24/7 online support services for young people and parents
- access to free information and resources
- specialist support services for young cancer patients
All support services are underpinned by Canteen’s research and evaluation team who conduct world-class psychosocial research with the ultimate goal of transforming the lives of young people affected by cancer.
Canteen was set up by a group of young cancer patients in 1985 and is one of Australia’s leading cancer organisations where young people still guide the organisation at every level.
Beau & the team at Channel 10 joined us to chat about how you can support Canteens Bandanna Day!
