Free the Hounds is a Western Australian based advocacy group who's purpose is to stop the inhumane treatment of greyhounds by educating the public, providing transparency about the racing industry, lobbying the government, keeping regulatory bodies accountable, promoting greyhounds as companions not commodities and advocating for welfare reforms.
Greyhound Adoptions WA is a non profit organisation run entirely by volunteers. They support a ‘no kill’ policy, placing no restrictions on the temperament of the dogs that are brought onto their care, and aim for all Greyhounds to be rescued in WA.
Busselton Greyhound Awareness works tirelessly to bring awareness about the plight of the Greyhound during and after their racing career has ended. They rescue and rehome 100s of dogs in their small country town.
Greyt Greys Rescue is a registered not-for-profit charity dedicated to greyhound rescue since 2017. They are a vital safety net for these gentle creatures, offering them a second chance at a happy and fulfilling life. Each greyhound receives necessary medical care, and is placed in a loving foster home until they find their forever family.
Friends of the Hound Inc. was inspired by a gorgeous, timid, blue Greyhound at Tweed Shire Pound in December 2002. Friends of the Hound Inc. (FOTH) is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit rescue charity, relying and thriving solely on fundraising and donations. Friends of the Hound Inc. takes in dogs from Greyhound owners, breeders and trainers from all over NSW, ACT and QLD, and rescues Greyhounds from pounds, shelters and Vet clinics where possible.
I Want A Greyhound (IWaG) Inc. is a registered not-for-profit greyhound rehoming, education and support charity. The founders, members, volunteers and supporters of IWaG are passionate about greyhound welfare. As well as rehoming, we believe it is important to educate the wider community about greyhound welfare by building a strong, supportive greyhound-loving community and network of partners.
Founded by Emma Haswell, and run by Emma and a small dedicated team Brightside rescues and rehomes hundreds of animals each year. They educate, advocate and campaign for farm and companion animals. Brightside rescues and re homes hundreds of animals each year including about 300 rescued dogs.
