Profit Transparency

Profit Transparency

The purpose of Lily's book was to help raise money for animal rescues and to educate children about the realities of greyhound racing. Members of the public helped us raise money to complete the project and therefore we believe it's only right that you know how profits from the book are distributed!

  • animal rescues & advocacy groups in Australia can purchase our book for the cost price charged by our printer + postage, they sell the book for the RRP of $20 and keep all the profits. Typically they can profit around $12 per book they sell.
  • Profits from the book which we sell via our website or Amazon go into a fund to save up for Lily’s next book so we don’t have to crowdfund the seed money (though we will take preorders).
  • Lily’s sewing patterns is a separate “side hustle” which was successful long before the inception of Lily’s book. This is income for our family.
  • Profits from book events at schools or libraries go towards funding Lily’s next book. However, when booked through Free The Hounds, we participate in a voluntary capacity and therefore any financial contribution is directed to them.
  • 100% of merchandise profits (through Red Bubble) is directed to Free The Hounds.

If you'd like to purchase a copy of our book directly from animal rescues, please scroll down to view them all :)
